That I william Clark of Plymouth in the County of Plymouth
yeoman For and In Consideration of the sum of Fifty Pound
Lawful money to me before the Ensealing here of Paid, on Second
to be paid the Receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge and
my debt therewith Satisfied, and paid, Do by these Presents
Bargain Sell and Convey unto the Reverend Mr. Eleazar Wheelock
of Lebanon in the Colony of Connecticut. Clark, my
Negro man Named Ishmael, being a Servant for life, to
Hold to him the said Eleazarand his heirs Executor administrators and
assigns; against me and my heirs Executorsand administrators and against the
lawful Claims of all other Persons whatsoever, hereby Covenant -
ing that the said Ishmael servant for life, is well and sound
and free from any Encumbrances, and I the said william do
hereby warrant the said Ishmael as a servant For life to the
Said Eleazar Wheelock and his heirs and assigns against all Persons
whatsoever, witness my hand and Seal February the 7th 1757
