Its a short and hurried Line, and for everything
it refers, saving only what relates to You.
Mr. Occom should have come with me, and so should
Mr. Whitaker; If I had hold at that time of one of Mr. Occoms hands
your business would be quite done and speedily.—Dr. Conder tells
Mr. DeBe[illegible]Mr. Savage etc. That the Episcopal Mission with You
have sent an Indian over and have ordained him in Bristol and though
he can't speak English, he is designed to ape and undermine Mr.
Occom who is expected and much talked of here. But this wont hurt
Mr. Occom — If he is not come away pray dont let him stay a moment
longer than the time Inoculation takes. Pray let him come to London
by Coach privately and unseen, and Let him first see Mr. Whitefield.
Dr. Gifford has £117. now in his hands: On saying to
him the last great missions were without [illegible][guess: Fund] and that your own Estate
 lay
laid at risk? He replied with Emotion The dear Man shant pay a penny.
On my saying Mr. Occom will get a bushel of money he replied Aye
that he will.
Mr. Whitefield tells me Mr. Erskine has got in his hands
£600. for the Indians.
But I have said more than I Thought should have had
time for. I ask your Prayers and am respectfully
