And the Glory of God, [Mr | Mr.]MrMr. Occom[pers0030.ocp]’s Character and [Uſefulneſs | usefulness]Uſefulneſsusefulness,
and particularly, the Reputation of Indian Affairs, requiring

Innocence or Guilt therein might thereby [publickly | publicly]publicklypublicly appear:
Wherefore, the [Revd | Rev.]RevdRev. [M.r | Mr.]M.rMr. [Jewet | Jewett]JewetJewett[pers0023.ocp], at the [Deſire | desire]Deſiredesire of [ſome | some]ſomesome
of this Board[org0034.ocp], exhibited a Charge, [conſiſting | consisting]conſiſtingconsisting of a Number of
Articles, [againſt | against]againſtagainst the [ſaid | said]ſaidsaid [Mr | Mr.]MrMr. Occom[pers0030.ocp]: which were deliberately
heard with Evidences and Pleas on both Sides. And
upon [moſt | most]moſtmost carefully weighing the whole [Controverſy | controversy]Controverſycontroversy, [Mr | Mr.]MrMr.
Occom[pers0030.ocp] was not found guilty of any of the Charges laid

in which he was blamed only agreeable to the
Tenor of what follows.
and, for many Years, one of their Council, I thought
I had not only a natural and civil Right, but that
it was my Duty, to acquaint [myſelf | myself]myſelfmyself with their temporal
Affairs
vinced, that as there was no [abſolute | absolute]abſoluteabsolute [Neceſsity | necessity]Neceſsitynecessity for it, it
was very imprudent in me, and [offenſive | offensive]offenſiveoffensive to the Public, that
I [ſhould ſo | should so]ſhould ſoshould so far engage, as, of late, I have done, in the

imprudent, [raſh | rash]raſhrash, and [offenſive | offensive]offenſiveoffensive Conduct of mine, I am
heartily [ſorry | sorry]ſorrysorry, and beg [Forgiveneſs | forgiveness]Forgiveneſsforgiveness of God — of this honou‐

asked farther Advice— and of the Public; determining,

Letter which the [Revd | Rev.]RevdRev. [Mr | Mr.]MrMr. [Jewet | Jewett]JewetJewett[pers0023.ocp] wrote to the [Commiſsioners | Commissioners]CommiſsionersCommissioners
at [Bosſton | Boston]BosſtonBoston[org0095.ocp] [ſome time | sometime]ſome timesometime [laſt | last]laſtlast Fall, in which he thinks there
are [ſeveral | several]ſeveralseveral Things injurious to his Character, might be
laid before this Board[org0034.ocp]. Which being read and [conſidered | considered]conſideredconsidered,
the Board[org0034.ocp] are of Opinion, that it is [Mr | Mr.]MrMr. [Jewet | Jewett]JewetJewett[pers0023.ocp]’s Duty,
