on the Evening following the 27th of September last. a red roan Mare. better than 14 hands high — could both pace and Trot — had a
short Tail — four white feet — Branded [illegible][guess (maggiec): D]. (being Durham Brand .) She was Somewhat hipped
on the right Side which was but little to be Seen when she was fat — She was five years old — and was then in the service
of Mr. Samuel Johnson, a Member of Yale College, and also a member of the Indian Charity School under the Care
of the subscriber — He was then employed as a schoolmaster among the Mohawks — It was Strongly suspected that
she was Stolen by a young man a Shoemaker who had Said he belonged to Pennsylvania on or near to Susquehanna
River, he was seen in said pasture a little before the mare was missing and two or three Days after both the man and Beast
according to the description passed By [illegible][guess (maggiec): Sapus] Mountain. Whoever will secure said mare — and deliver her into the care of
the Rev. John Brainerd of mount Hollis in new Jersey, or convey her to me shall have six Dollars Reward and all necessary Charges
