May it please Your Excellency
The Bearer Mr. Occom is going by the
Direction of the Commissioners of the Board of Corres‐
pondents in Connecticut
to meet Gen. Johnson, if it may
be before the Indians from remote Tribes who have joined
him Shall be dispersed, in Order to make proposals to them of
Receiving missionaries and schoolmasters among their
respective Tribes next Spring or when a Door may be
opened for them and also to obtain a Number of youth to be Educated in this School under my Care. and he now waits upon you for Such Re‐
‐commendation, or commission as Your Excellency Shall see fit to
give him, and as you may think most subservient to the design
in view.
