GL My dear Gus,-
I have your note of the 7th instant, in which you ask for information as to what action has been taken by my Minister in regard to Wrangel Island. In reply, I may say that a memorandum has been in the hands of the Prime Minister every since my Minister left for the West. I believe Mr. V. Steffanson is in town. Your Minister called to see Mr. W. W. Cory, Deputy Minister of Interior yesterday, and afterwards Mr. Steffanson called on Mr. Cory and left with him a memorandum which he wishes to have brought to the attention of Council on Friday morning. Mr. Cory is having a further brief prepared and will, I presume, advise Dr. King of its contents.
I believe our official fyle is either in Council or in the Prime Minister’s office.
Yours very truly, (Sgd.) J. E. Featherston Private Secretary.

G. Heidman, Esq.,  Private Secretary,  Dept. of Public Works,   Ottawa.
