New York City.
Dear Mr. Stefansson:-
I am much obliged to you for your letter
of March 10th, in regard to Wrangel Island.
I quite understand that the story
apparently has in some way become known and that a paper like
the "New York Times" having got hold of the main facts intends
to publish them. I am inclined to agree with you that if
it is impossible to keep the matter confidential that it were
better that the real facts appear than garbled stories.
I have taken the liberty of passing a copy
of your letter on to the Board in London.
Yours faithfully,
^
