New York, U.S.A.
Dear Mr. Stefansson,
With regard to the sum of money in the amount
of $190.00 which you advanced to E. Lorne Knight, and
as per your letter of the 22nd inst., I find that I gave
you credit for $250.00 advanced by you to Knight, and
you were issued shares in the company for this amount,
plus the other advances made by you; so that it stands
at present that Knight owes the company instead of you,
and I am reducing his account each month by applying
his salary against it.
This $250.00 may not be the same as the money
which you speak of. It may be an entirely personal
loan by you and have nothing to do with the $250.00 also
advanced by you. If so, then the only way this can be
settled, is to wait until Knight’s return.
If you were able to get an assignment from
Knight of his salary each month until it is paid up,
then I could pay you, but since there is no means of
communicating with Knight at present, I am afraid the
next best thing is to wait until he either returns or
you can obtain authority from him to draw his salary.
Yours very truly,
^
John Anderson
