Vilhjalmur Stefansson, Esq.,
American Geographical Society,
Broadway at 156th Street, New York.
Dear Mr. Stefansson:
I knew some time ago that Mr. Crawford
had gone North, and I am glad to know that they are likely
to have a pleasant and comfortable winter in Wrangel Island.
A few weeks ago I had a talk with his father about the young
man, and as far as I can judge he expects that his son will
return to his university work after his experiences in the
North. I agree with you that it would be better for him to
finish his course before embarking on what is bound to divert
him from his academic training. I hope that the expedition
will be successful, and that your own will yield the results
for which you are hoping, and with many thanks, I am,
Yours sincerely,
^
