Dear Mr. FitzGerald:
As the last installment of our confidential correspondence with regard to my enterprise in Wrangel Island, I am now writing to confirm what you have doubtless seen in the papers - that our expedition got to Wrangel Island safely and that five men in my employ are wintering there now. The purpose explained in my previous letters has, therefore, been attained.
I have not yet learned whether the "Lady Kindersley" was able to reach Wrangel Island. I hope very much that she was able. As I said previously, my men had instructions to co-operate with your men in every way in case you were able to land there.
Mr. Edward FitzGerald, Hudson's Bay Company, 208 Main Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
