Dear Mr. Stefansson,
I attach copy of letter which I have written
to Mr. Jafet Lindeberg, with regard to the amount of
money spend by him in repairing the "Orion". This is
as suggested by you in your letter to Mr. Taylor of the
14th.
You will notice I have not pressed Mr. Lindeberg for this money until we hear further about the
matter, although I have made it clear that our books
show the amount against him, and that it is for him to
say whether we are to look to him for payment or the
Pioneer Mining Company.
According to Mr. Crawford, Mr. Lindeberg is
the owner of the "'Orion'', and he is therefore the only
one who has derived any benefit from our money expended
on that boat, and should refund us. We will, however,
wait until we hear as to what Mr. Lindeberg has to say
in regard to this matter.
Yours faithfully,
^
John Anderson
