Mr. John Anderson,
Credit Foncier Bldg.,
Vancouver, B.C.
Dear Mr. Anderson:
Herewith is account of all
cash transactions made by me to date, together
with invoices of the more extensive purchases.
These sheets are duplicates and need not be
returned; Mr. Stefansson might care to see
them however. I have made myself some small ad
advances from the cash in hand to meet personal expenses. These I will total and deposit
cheque at on my account to favour of the
company's account (or Mr. Stefansson's) at the
Miners & Merchants Bank at Nome. This will
save you making deductions from my salary.
I suppose I am permitted to make small advances
2
to the other men on their salary?
I must thank you for arranging
my account at the Bank of Nova Scotia.
Everything is shaping up fine. I was a little
afraid of bad ice conditions at this late date of
of departure but I see by this evening's
paper that a trading schooner is leaving
Seattle
for Arctic Siberia. We should have
a start on them since we ought to arrive at
Nome sooner than it. As Capt. Olsen is experienced in arctic conditions this is very
reassuring.
Sincerely,
