Dear Mr. Stefansson,
Doubtless you have re
ceived my wire of even date advising you that
the entire expedition has been abandoned.
I may say that for some
time there had been a great deal of uncertainty.
Things were in such condition that it was quite
impossible for me to send any satisfactory reply
to your several previous messages. Through all
the period of uncertainty I personally thought
that in the end the decision would be favourable.
However as already advised such is not the case.
