want to feel more, love yea, more love and zeal,
I want my love perfect, I want my love pure
That all things with patience I well may endure
More like my bless master, and more like a child.
More watchful, more prayerful, more lowly in mind
More thankful, more gentle more loving and know
I want my heart filled with the purest of love
My faith I want stronger, my anchor how sure
And like a good soldier, all hardships endure.
All malise & anger I would lay aside,
All clamour and hatred & envy & wrath
I want to escape from the snares of their path.
Forgiving if any my spirit should grieve,
Remembering at all times what Jesus did say,
And set out anew & begin every day.
Where moth, nor rust will ever corrupt,
Where no thieves nor robbers will venture or dare,
My heart & my treasures I want to be there.
I them deep rooted, & feel them within,
My light I want clear, that beholder may see
How faith & good work, in sweet union agree.
I want that perfected, which grace has begun,
With love & sweet union that sooth every care
And with my deare brethren all burthen tobe a bear.
Come love & sweet union to thee I do call,
I wantmy heart fill
to feel more love feel more love to yea more love to all
O come my beloved, come hasten to me,
And fill up my vessel as full as can be
Come brothers & sisters both aged and youth
And all, who are willing to walk in the truth,
Come fill up your vessels with union and love
And on our bless journey, we'll joyfully move
To dwell in the regions of pure light & love,
With Jesus our Saviour & all holy men,
We'll ring Halleluyah, forever Amen.
1. Burst ye emerald gates and bring
To my rapture vision
All the ecstatic joys, that spring
From the bright elision,
Lo! we lift our longing eyes,
Break ye intervening skies,
Sun of righteousness arise
Open the gates of Paradise
2. Floods of everlasting light,
Freely flash around him,
Myriad, with [supprisened?] light
Instantly adore him
Angelic triumph resounds his fame,
Lutes of lucid gold proclaim,
All the music of his name,
Heaven echoing the theme.
From their princely station,
Shout his glorious victories
ring the great salvation
Cast their crowns before his throne,
Cry in reverential tone,
Glory be to God alone,
Holy, Holy, Holy one.
4. Hark! [ The] Thrilling Symphony
Seem, my thinks to rise us,
Join we too the holy lays,
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
Sweetest Round in Seraphic songs,
Sweetest note on mortal tongues,
Sweetest coral ever sung,
Jesus, Jesus, following along.
gone before me, To fullfill my soul's request.
There is rest for the weary, There [is rest] for you.
On the other side of Jordan, In the sweet fields of Eden,
Where the tree of life is blooming, There is rest for you.
He is fitting up my mansion, which eternally shall stand,
For my stay shall not be transient, In that holy happy land.
Pain and sickness ne'er enter, grief nor woe my lot shall share
but in that celestial centre, I a crown of life shall wear;
Death itself shall then be vanquish'ed
And its sting shall be withdrawn;
Shaut for gladness, O ye ransomed -
Hail with joy the rising morn.
Sing, O sing, ye heirs of glory;
Shout your your triumphs as you go;
Lion's gates will open for you,
You shall find an entrance through.
[the] God, who built the sky, And earth and nature made:
[G]od is the tower to which I fly;
His grace is nigh in every hour.
1. Shall Jesus bear the cross alone, and all the world go free;
No, there's a cross for every one, And there's cross for me.
2. How happy are the saints above, Who went sorrowing here;
But now they taste unmingled love, And joy without a tear
3. The consecrated cross I'll bear, Till death shall set me free;
And then go home my crown to wear, For there's a crown for me
My days are gliding swiftly by, And I a pilgrim stranger, would not detain them as they fly!
Those hours of toil + danger.
For oh! we stand on Jordan strand, Our friends are passing over, And just before the shining shore
We may almost dis cover.
We'll gird our loins, my brethren dear, Our distant home discerning;
Our absent Lord has left us word, Let every lamp be burning.
For oh! xc
Should coming days be cold and dark, We need not cease our singing;
That perfect rest none can molest, Where golden harps are ringing.
Let sorrow's rudest tempest blow, Each cord on earth to sever,
Our King says come, and there's our home, For ever, oh! for ever.
For oh we stand xc
If you cannot on the ocean sail among the swiftest fleet,
Rocking on the highest billows, Laughing at the storms you meet
you can stand among the sailors, [Anchor] yet within the [bay],
you can lend ahelping hand to help them, As they launch
their boats away ./.
2. If you are too weak to journey, Up the mountain, steep & high,
you can stand within the valley, While the multitude go by;
you can chant in happy measure, As slowly pass along,
Though they may forget the singer, They will not forget the song
3. If you have not gold and silver, Every ready to command,
If you cannot towards the needy, Reach an ever open hand;
you can visit the afflicted, O'er the erring you can weep,
you can be a true disciple, Sitting at the Saviour's feet
4. If you cannot in the conflict, Prove yourself a soldier true
If where fire and smoke are thickest, There's no work for you to do;
When the battle field is silent, you can go with careful tread
You can bear away the wounded, You can cover up the dead
5. Do not then stand idly wanting,
For some greater work to do, Duty calls to [present] effort
And a crown's laid up for you,
Go and toil in any vineyard, Do not fear to do or dare,
If you want a field to labour, you can find it any where.
Thy kingdom come, Thy perfect will In earth, as heaven let all fulfill:
Give this day's bread, that we may live; forgive our sins as we forgive;
Help us temptation to withstand; From evil shield us by Thy hand;
Now and forever with thee, Thy kingdom, power and glory be. Amen
Since man by sin has lost his God,
He seeks creation though;
And vainly hopes for [mild] bliss,
In trying something new.
The new [?] like fading flower
Soon [loses] its gay hill;
The [bubble] now longer takes
The mind wants something new.
But when we feel A Saviour's Power,
All good in Him we view;
The soulpersists forsakes its vain permits
Amd seeks for something new.
The joy the dear Redeemer brings,
Will bear a strict review;
Nor need we ever change again,
For Christ is always new.
When I set out for glory, And left the world behind,
Determined forxxxxx
City, that out of sight to find,
And to glory I will go, I'll go, I'll go, And to glory I will go.
I left my worldly honor, I left my worldly fame;
I left my gay companions, And with my good name. And to glory
Some said I'd better tarry, For I was yet too young
For to prepare for dying, But they were all my theme.
And to glory of xc.
The Lord, He loves the beggar, Who truly begs indeed;
He always will relieve, Whene'er he stands in need.
And to begging xc.
I do not beg for riches, Nor to be dressed fine;
The garment that Hewill give me, The sun it will out shine.
And to begging xc.
I'm not ashamed to beg, While here on earth I stay;
I'm not shamed watch, I'm not ashamed to pray.
And to begging xc.
The richest I ever saw, Was one that beg the most.
His soul was filled with Jesus, And with the Holy Ghost.
And to begging xc.
And now we encouraged, Come let us travel on,
Untill we join the Angels, And sing the holy song.
And to glory xc.
He calls his for to prove, The principle of perfect love,
And give to Jesus Glory.
Then came my friends, where'er you be
Come will you go to school with me?
Christ Jesus is my Master's Name;
To day as yesterday the same. And give xc.
His school-books are the scriptures true,
His lessons are forever new;
The scholars too, are all agreed
This is a blessed school indeed.
And give xc.
My Master learns the blind to see,
Then, come ye blind the school is free;
My Master learns the lame to walk,
He also learns the dumb to talk.
And give xc.
My Master learns the deaf to hear
Oh! come ye deaf and lend and ear
Unto master's pleasant voice,
He'll make your mourning souls rejoice.
And give xc.
He learns the swearing man to pray;
Come ye profane, without delay,
He'll change your tongues to speak his name,
And speak abroad the Saviour's fame.
And give xc.
Come, brethren dear, who are at school, Attention pay to every rule,
Soon we shall learn the happy art, of loving God with all our heart.
Soon our mortal frame must die, then we lay our school by;
We'll reign with Master Jesus then, Glory to God, glory Amen.
And give to Jesus glory. -
Its muddy stream and sparkling tide,How bright goe't they glow
I've seen extending wide ,Its devastating sway;
Seen reason yeild its power to guide;I've cast the bowl away.
For ruin dine, disease, and death, taint all that flow within
Neglected duties rise, In fearful, sad array,
Up to the brim. I will be wise; I've cast the bowl away.
Like summer leaves, untimely fall, And leave their high estates
I've seen fair woman give Her every charm away,
Embrace the demon vile, and live: I've cast the bolwl away.
To shun inebriation; Train, My zeal to temperance give;
No duty to neglect; But live to [belefe] the day
When I was lead without regret, To cast the bowl away.
Why in such dreadful haste to die
Heard but in the vale of willows, With its never
ceasing moan, Can some lone, despairing spirit in its
branches, fettered be? In the moaning, ever groaning
Weeping, wailing willow tree
equally illustrious, in pleasantry and wisdom.
Let all the virgin, read Sulpicia,
Let all the young men, and all the old men read her,
Let all the gay read, and the all [seaman], read her,
who girt with her poetic measures, and valuable
of voice, by her powers, has brought gems to their hands
They who will read, will say, that no poetry is more
neat than her every measure,
And, he who well considers her song, will say
that no song is more chaste
The Graces are present with her, and the Muses favour.
while thus informing the flexible mind, with
example, with counsel, with love, and with
knowledge, The imbues, with beautiful powers
the tender bosoms of Virgins; And[ Stile] says
that the ages quickly approaching, will, for
bank, be comparable to the age of Adison.
Come tell me blue eyes stanger,
say, wither doth than roam:
Hast thou O'er this wide world ranger
Hast thou no friends, nor home?
They calld me blue eyed Mary
When friends and fortune smiled;
But, alas! how fortune varies
I, now, amfortune sorrow's child.
Come here I'll buy thy flowers
And ease thy happ'less lot
And wet, with vernal showers,
I'll buy, forget me not.
Kind, sir, then buy these posies
They are withering like my youth
But never like these roses
Shall wither Mary's truth
Look up thou poor forsaken
I'll give thee house and home
And if I am not mistaken
Thou'll never wish to roam.
Once more, I am happy Mary
Once more hast fortune smiled
Who ne'er from virtue varies
May yet be sorrow's Child
