Shopkeeper, in Hanover, in the Province aforesaid are held and
firmly bound to the Honourable Eleazar Wheelock Esquire President
of said College, in ten pounds lawful Money of said Province —
to the whole payment well, and truly to be made, we find our
selves, and everyone of us by himself, for and in the whole, our
Heirs, Executors, and Administrators, and of every of us firmly by
these present, Sealed with our seals, Dated, at Hanover in Said
Province this 8th Day of February in the thirteenth year of His
Majesty's Reign Anno Domini. 1773.
tion is such that if Caesar a Negro Man, now residing in the
Kitchen at Dartmouth College who has this day been convicted and
fined for Defamation Shall for the future be of good behavior
and Conduct, then this present obligation to be void and of none Effect
or else to stand and remain in full force and United.
