Cloe’s Profession and Engagement
God; that this God is in 3 persons Father
Son and Holy Ghost That God made man
after his Image in knowledge highness and holi-
-ness that man by sinning against God lost
his Image and favour that God Sent his
Son to Die for our Sins, and that Christ did by
his Obedience and Death purchase our Pardon
and free Justification. that you are by
nature a sinner and that all your Life has
been Sinful, and that you have nothing to
hope in, but the merit, and highness of Christ,
for freedom from Guilt and Eternal Salvation
you believe that the Spirit of God alone can teach
you Effectually the great things necessary for
you to know in order to your Salvation
that all who are Christians, have crucified
the flesh with the Affection and Lust and are
become new Creatures and Such you must
be or you will be Lost forever
and you promise by divine Grace that you will
Seek the Lord as long as you live that you
will try to know God’s will and do it that you
will labour to perform all relative Duties
Especially towards your family that you will
do all you can that your children may early
know and fear God. and in all things behave
yourself becoming a Disciple and follower of Christ
