of East Haddam in the. County of Hartford and Colony of
Connecticut in New England, for and in Consideration of
Sixty five Pounds Lawful Money paid to my full Satisfaction
by Eleazar Wheelock of Lebanon in the County of Wind
-ham and Colony aforesaid Have given granted bargain
-ed Sold and by the Presents to give grant bargain Sell
convey and confirm to the said Wheelock his Heirs and
assigns fore Life My negro man Servant Named Bris
-ter aged about Twenty one years, To have and to ho[gap: page torn]
the Same as a good in defeasable Estate, to his and their own
proper use and behoof. And furthermore I do for
my Self my Heirs etc. covenant to and with the said Wheelock
his Heirs etc. that at and until the Signing and Seating of these
Presents, I am well Seized of the Premises and have good Right
to bargain and Sell the Same as in above Expressed and that he
said Brister is of a Healthy and sound Constitution and is free
from any Distemper or Disorder of Body or mind that
may prejudice his in the Capacity of a Slave
in witness where of I have hereunto set my Hand and
Seal this 26th Day of April AD 1760.
