Yours of 22nd October I Received for which I thank you — was
very Glad to Hear from you. and that you are under So Comfortable
Circumstances — these may inform you that we are all [illegible: mourning]
our Negro Girl is under poor Circumstances I am afraid She won’t
Live Long themeans used Don’t Seem at present as though they
wouldEffect a Cure (I desire to submit to the Determinations
of heaven Concerning her-) I dont know when I shall
Come for Betty we are not yet Got into our house nor shall
we very Speedily — I am afraid She is almost out of
patience — I Should be Glad if She were at home — if
I could tell how to Get her here — I am very sorry to hear
of the unhappy Difficulty there is in your town but I believe God does
Governs the world and that and his Councils notwithstanding all the
Devices of mans hearts Shall Stand — when we Shall Send you
more money — I want to know Mr. B's — [illegible: inside] — you may
Depend upon it we Shall do the best we Can — I have had
a fitt of theSpleen about it but am pretty well recovered
— I am not without fears that the Concern among our
people is much abated — I [illegible: offer] your prayers for them and us
with Sir with only sincere Love and Service to you and yours
and our love to Betty is all at present form Reverend Faithful
