Rev. and dear Sir.
After you went away yesterday I thought of the necessity of your meeting Soon to Solicit General Johnson etc. and proposed to Mr. Pomeroy his meeting Mr. Saltar at your House the Wednesday after next but on further thought, apprehend it will be better it Should be next Wednesday. for If Mr. Occom Should go on his proposed mission I think the Sooner the better —
And as I cant yet be fully satisfied of the policy or Prudence of an application to Sir William according to the vote we have made; perhaps it may be as well, if your address be Sent by Mr. Occom, and Sir William be only told that Such an Application was designed, and my Application be made only by writing — but Mr. Whitaker is able more fully to represent what is proposed, and my Difficulty in the Affair. or perhaps when the committee are together, you will think it best to Appoint Some other to go in my Room which I should be glad you do. You will please to notify Mr. Saltar. and if you dont Object I will notify Mr. Pomeroy
I am. Rev. and dear Sir. yours etc. Eleazar Wheelock
