Dear Sir
I have your letter of Nov. 13th.
It is true there were one or two statements
in your Times article with which I did
not agree, but I do not feel able at the
present time to discuss the Wrangel Island
tragedy with you - The blow is too recent
and overwhelming. The loss of our son
has been the most devastating sorrow
of our lives, but nothing which we
can say or do can bring him back
or heal the wound.
We are trying to forget our sorrow
and to carry on for the sake of
the living, and the less discussion there
is, the easier it will be for us to
do so. For this reason I have, up to
the present, steadfastly refused to
be interviewed.
I received the copies of Allan's
last letter for which accept my thanks.
Yours truly, J.T. Crawford (Over)
Notes for letter to Sir. Edmund Walker.
