Dear Mr.Stefansson:-
I thought that I had better
write and let you know what I had done
with Ellison White concerning the pictures
and lecture.
For 3 or 4 days after I arrived home I
was laid up with the grippe and was
unable to go to Portland, but called Paget
up. When I did go to see him, I found
that he (Paget) had already received your
wire and was perfectly willing that the change
in plans be made. The advertising has already
been distributed but he said they thay could
easily be overcome. The only thing that was
liable to hold them back was the fact that
the pictures were not yet in Portland but
he has wired to N.Y. to find out why they
have not been sent.
I wrote to Mr. Harkin from
Louisville the same day you left
but have received no answer so am going
to write again today.
I have your itinerary and note that
you will be in Dallas, only 20 miles
from here, on July 19 and I am sure the
folks will come up and see you. I am
listed to appear in Amity, 9 miles from
here, on June 6th but some people are
due for a dissapointment. Every one here
still thinks I am going on to Chautauqua.
Give my best regards to Maurer and be
lieve me
Respectfully Yours
Knight
