So I find it my Duty to make my Faults known to
you,— I have been shamefully, overtaken with Strong
Drink, by which I have greatly wounded the cause of
God, and blemished the Pure Religion of Jesus Christ
and blackened my own Character, and brought a reproach on the ministry, and
hurt my own Soul:— For which, as in the Sight of
God, I am ashamed, I am Sorry, and Sincerely, Repent —
And I humbly Beg your forgiveness—and pray you to
God for me.— I Resolve, relying upon the grace of
God, to keep a better guard and watch over my
self in Time to Come and desire to be restored to the
charity of all all, who have been offended thereby.
