noteworthyAs noted at the bottom of one recto, this document is a copy. See manuscript 789307.1 for another copy of the same document. There are several non-contemporary edits made to this document: the date penciled in at the top of one recto; notes made in black ink by an editor, likely 19th-century, that read “No. 16 (E);” a “(+)" that is possibly a library mark on one verso; and the note “no 4” written in pencil on one verso. These notes have not been included in the transcripiton. A small doodle left of the trailer on one verso appears to be contemporary.

At a regular meeting of the board of Trustees of Dartmouth College
holden at said College the seventh day of May Anno Dom 17989.
Representations having been made to this board that apprehensions
have arisen in the minds of some persons that moneys collected in Great‐
Britain
by the Rev.d Meſs.rs Whitaker and Occom for the use of Moors
Charity school
under the direction of the Rev.d Doct.r Wheelock have
been applied [gap: hole][guess (h-dawnd): b]y this board to the use & benefit of Dartmouth College,
Resolved that this board have never had any control or direction
of said monies nor have they to their knowledge at any time received
or applied any sum or sums thereof to the use & benefit of said College
but on the most critical examination relative thereto we are convinced
this board have ever considered themselves as having no concern with
the application of the said monies but that they were subject to
the application of the late Reverend Doct.r E. Wheelock & his Succeſsors
in the presidency of Moors Charity School & them only. Nor have
they to their knowledge any interest in their hands on which
revenues have arisen to them as the effect of monies laid otut by
Doctor Wheelock or others which were of monies collected by Doct.r
Whitaker & M.r Occom in Great Britain as aforesaid. And
should any such in future arise it is the sense & intention of
this board that such revenues be applied by Doctor
Wheelock
s Succeſsors solely to the objects for which those
donations in Great Britain were made. —
