The Teſtimony of of Elizebeth Waterman of Norwich (viz)
That When I waſ Carreyd to Capt Jabez Deanſ Negro Wench aſ
mentioned in his Teſtimony: at firſt by her actions I ſuppoſed her
to be in Travil : then at Capt Deanſ & his wife Deſire I Examined on
the wench who waſ the father of her Child She told me it was
Sama Smalley ye. ſeconds: then upon Sarch I found her not to be
With Child or Ever had been aſ I Could perceive, So I informed
Capt Dean& hiſ wife. and then ever Was Called to ſd wench
on any acct nither before nor ſince the time above mentioned &
further yt when I was with ye wench Some time ſhe Said She was with Child and again.
that ſhe was not —

Norwich December 30th 1749 Then Came and
perſonaly appeared Mrs Elizabeth waterman the above Deponant
and made Solomn oath to the Truth of the above written
Depoſition; Capt Daniel Smalley having been Notified to be
preſent: by a Copy of a Citation Left at his Dwelling houſe in
Lebanon: on the 27th Inſtant; but not Preſent —
