								<note type="noteworthy">It is uncertain to whom Sarah Whitaker refers when she
									mentions “Miss Occom.” It could be <persName key="pers0029.ocp">Mary Fowler
										Occom</persName> or one of Mary and Samson Occom’s daughters. Due to ledger
									formatting, transcription line breaks may not exactly match those in the original
									document. In instances where the writer's intention regarding an abbreviation is
									uncertain, the abbreviation has been left unexpanded in the modernized
									transcription.</note>
