We join our earne&slong;t earnest Prayers with you, and &slong;hall shall by God's Grace unite our fervent Labours to promote the excellent Purpo&slong;e purpose your pious Hearts are &slong;et set upon; the Advancement of the Kindgom Kingdom of our ble&slong;sed blessed Redeemer, & and &slong;preading spreading the Savour of his Knowledge among them who &slong;it sit in Darkne&slong;s darkness , and the Region and Shadow of Death, the mo&slong;t most glorious Object of your and our Attention. To the Honbl Honourable Society in Scotland for propagating Chri&slong;tian Christian Knowledge july 1764 will be &slong;erved served with the Continuation of it to November 1763, either from the Pre&slong;s press , or Manu&slong;cript manuscript from Bo&slong;ton Boston , it having been &slong;ome some Months ago tran&slong;mitted transmitted to Mr Mr. John Smith, Merchant there. And our pre&slong;ent present Pro&slong;pects prospects & and Purpo&slong;es purposes you will &slong;ee see as follows. Though we have no A&slong;su­rance assu­rance of Peace with the Indians, yet entertain &slong;trong strong Hopes that the pre&slong;ent present Troubles will be brought to a &slong;peedy speedy I&slong;sue issue . And are perswa ded persuaded , that when that Event happens, it concerns us, to be as &slong;peedy speedy as Po&slong;sible possible in exerting our utmo&slong;t utmost Endeavours to &slong;pread spread the Go&slong;pel gospel as far as may be into the Bowels of the Pagan Country; if po&slong;sible possible , before it is thronged with unrighteous Dealers, who&slong;e whose unbounded Avarice threatens the greate&slong;t greatest Mi&slong;schief mischief to the Cau&slong;e cause . We have voted to take the Rev.d Rev. Mr Mr. Occom into our Service, if he may be freed from a Preengagement pre engagement to the London Commi&slong;sioners commissioners , which we expect may be without Difficulty] We have al&slong;o also referred to our Committee, the &slong;ending sending of Samuel A&slong;hpo Ashpo , a judicious & and pious Indian, when Providence &slong;hall shall open a Door. We have al&slong;o also the plea&slong;ure pleasure to inform you, that there are eight or ten Indian Youth in this School, of good Moral Character, well accompli&slong;hed accomplished for &slong;hoolma&slong;ters school masters , except their Want of Age & and Fortitude. We purpo&slong;e purpose to &slong;end send forth two or three of the&slong;e these , next &slong;pring spring , to remote Tribes, in the Capa­city of School Ma&slong;ters masters , & and expect by the Ble&slong;sing blessing of God, that in the Cour&slong;e course of a Year, they will be &slong;o so far accquainted acquainted with the Cu&slong;toms customs & and Languages of the&slong;e these Nations, that it may be probably expedient to ordain & and improve them as Mini&slong;ters ministers among them. We expect the Revd Rev. Mr Mr. Charles Jeffry Smith will return as &slong;oon soon as it will be &slong;afe safe for him, on a Mi&slong;sion mission to the &slong;ix Six Nations. And the union of all the&slong;e these , in the &slong;ame same Plan, we apprehend will afford a more agreeable Pro&slong;pect prospect than has ever yet appeared of this kind. But the&slong;e these Things we have determined upon without a &slong;hilling shilling in &slong;tock stock , relying only on him, who&slong;e whose the Earth is, & and the Fullne&slong;s fullness thereof, to &slong;upport support the &slong;ame same ; who has hitherto appeared to own the De&slong;ign design , & and increa&slong;e increase it from &slong;mall small Beginnings; nor has &slong;uffered suffered tho&slong;e those , who have tru&slong;ted trusted in him, to be a&slong;hamed ashamed of their Confidence. And con&slong;idering considering , the great Evidence of the Piety & and Genero&slong;ity generosity of your Honourable Society, we doubt not that, when the Importance of this Affair &slong;hall shall be maturely con&slong;idered considered by you, you will, agreeable to the other Expre&slong;sions expressions of your pious Zeal, do all that your Wi&slong;dom wisdom & and Power enables you to do, to render us capable to execute the&slong;e these great & and good De&slong;igns designs ­ And as the expected openings will probably induce Mi&slong;sionaries missionaries and School Ma&slong;ters masters to vi&slong;it visit remoter Tribes than any of our Mi&slong;sionaries missionaries have hither to reached; and the&slong;e these Mi&slong;sionaries missionaries mo&slong;tly mostly Indians, we conceive will give them more convincing Proofs of the Sincerity of our Intentions; and incline them to &slong;end send their promi&slong;ing promising Youth when invited, to receive an Education with us: &slong;o so we hope the Hon.ble Honourable Society will think this School, which &slong;ub&slong;ists subsists on no other Fund but the Care & and Bounty of Divine Providence, to be an Object worthy of their kind Notice and Encouragement
