Since God has spared my Life 'til now I have willingly accepted of your kind offer and privilege in your school Since I have experienced so much of your kindness toward me as well as to my Nation I am Thoroughly Convinced of your great Friendship and kindness toward them and that you would Contribute all in your Power if they could be made Happy thereby and more especially to make them Heirs of everlasting salvation I have been greatly concerned for the state of my Nation both for their spiritual and temporal Interest and so Continue which has caused me to Labour under many Sorrows the Narragansett Tribe whereunto I belong are under many Difficult circumstances which is a great hurt to their Religion I am fully persuaded that our — minister and a Number of his People would willingly Change their country for another where they could enjoy their Religion there are many who Condemn our ministers Religion and call it delusion but I would to God that we were all deluded by the same spirit as to their moving to some New Settlement I would not lead them Into anything without their consideration your kindness In writing to the
