Rev. Sir,
Money. I sent for last Year. I think you
did not deal justly with me.— For those things
which Mr. Kirtland had of me were my
own procuring, some I got by the Money
which Mr. Wheelock gave me. Now I al‐
ways thought whatsoever you gave me were
never to be recalled again; because I have
heard you say many times, to give Gifts is
like casting them into the Sea; But my
things came to me a little harder, for I suffered
Hunger, Cold, Heat, and weariness, for them. —
— Pray Sir, consider a little what I have
done for Mr. Kirtland, I helped to build his
house and cleared two Fields all this
work I give him freely, as you would give
a meal of Victuals to a perishing man.
for me to come to you for Money when I am
employed by others. But now I call for my own
property.
Money and send it down to Sister Occom. if
you dont allow me but three Pound I shall
be glad of it because I shall be troubled
if I dont get the Money. I should not feel so
distressed if I had not been sick so long. I was
confined ten Weeks by sickness, and after I
got about a little, Fathers Wigwam was
burnt into ashes and all their household Stuff
were consumed in it also all our things saving
only our best clothing
you with, I shall be glad to hear of your School also of
you and your Family, I write in utmost
haste for my company are waiting,
