noteworthyIt is uncertain to whom Sarah Whitaker refers when she mentions “Miss Occom.” It could be Mary Fowler Occom or one of Mary and Samson Occom’s daughters. Due to ledger formatting, transcription line breaks may not exactly match those in the original document. In instances where the writer's intention regarding an abbreviation is uncertain, the abbreviation has been left unexpanded in the modernized transcription.
