M.r Occom's Dec.r 28. 1768.
Since Time after I wrote to you, was at Dr Wheelock's, and found myſelf under a miſtake, for he told me, he had not receiv'd any Letter from our Honrable Truſtees Since we got home from England, and finding, he had Some Letters from England Concerning Dr Whitaker's Conduct whereby he gave a Diſpleaſure to our moſt worthy Truſtees and others — and told me also, he had excluded him from Truſt here — I thought it my Duty, to relate the whole matter to him, and he was much astoniſhed with it — and he Deſired to k^n^ow my opinion of the Honorable Truſtees, and I freely told him I look'd 'em as the moſt worthy, Honeſt, and faithful men Diſintruſted in their Truſt — I believe there is no danger of allienating his mind from the Honorable Truſtees The good old gentleman is moſt wore out, yet he is ſteady as the Sun he keeps on in good work — his Confi dence is in god Still — there is good Niws in the wildnerneſs among the onoydas, many are hopefully Turned from Darkneſs to [illegible]vital godlineſs —
