Rev.d & dear Sir.
After you went away ^yesterday^ I thought of the Neceſsity of your meeting Soon to Solicit Gen.l Johnſon &c. and propoſd to M.r Pomeroy his meeting M.r Saltar at your House the Wedneſday after next but on further thought, apprehend it will be better it Should be next Wedneſday. ^for^ If M.r Occom Should go on his proposed Miſs.n I think the Sooner the better —
And as I cant yet be fully Satiſfied of the pollicy or Prudence of an application to ſir William according to the vote we have made; perhaps it may be as well, if your addreſs be Sent by M.r Occom, and ſir William be only told that Such an Application was Deſigned, and [illegible][guess: Endeavours be] my Application be made only by writing — but M.r Whitaker is able more fully to repreſent what is proposed, and my Difficulty in the Affair. or perhaps when the Comtee are to gather, you will think it beſt to Appoint Some other to go in my Room ^w.c I Sho.d be glad you do.^ You will pleaſe to notify M.r Saltar. & if you dont Object I will notify M.r Pomroy
